That time has finally come...the end of summer! Oh, it's so bittersweet. Yes I love waking up to the bright summer sun, brunch outdoors on the waterfront, hiking in the summer heat,  and being a beach bum on the weekends. But I also love the gorgeous colors of the trees in fall, watching the colors of the landscape change, the time I finally get to spend with extended family over the holidays and getting to ring in the New Year all over again! But since I'm a little obsessed with summer I thought I'd share my last summer look!

Lace is one of my favorite patterns and I enjoy playing with different looks. I've never actually tried dressing it down but now that I have, think I will more often! What makes this top more versatile is the wide boxy shape of the shirt and the wide bell lace sleeves...and who can resist a scalloped shape hem and sleeves?! Chelsea28's floral lace sleeve my week's must have!

Here are other laces tops that made the cut ;-)

Trapeze Takeover

Well...the day has finally come, my last day in Waikiki! I'm thrilled my flight wasn't until afternoon so I took advantage by taking one last stroll down the shoreline. After signing off from work, I gathered my trusty tote turned beach bag, panama hat and sunnies. It really is a wonderful feeling waking up to such beauty each morning. I wish I could do this more often!

The easiest item for me to throw on when traveling is a dress. There's no thought or mysteries about which bottoms, shorts, distressed, skinnies, or which plethora of tanks to wear. Like all things with travel wear...the more print and colors the better! And this Anthropologie trapeze dress does it ALL. Adding accessories isn't much of a challenge either, today it's all about the statement necklace and shaved ice!

Till next time chicas!

It's a Wrap

Okay, I'm talking about it hair couscous fashionistas...what if you go to a pool party or the beach but just do NOT want to get your hair wet?? I am not ashamed, that is me quite often! There's no way I can visit Hawaii and not go to the beach. The only problem is, I have a wedding to attend in a few days and would like to keep my freshly done mane in order! My mom would have normally told me, since this was my school age routine, to wear a swim cap. Do gals, minus olympic medal swimmers, still wear those things?? Well today will not be the day I will start again ;-)

I improvised by wearing one of my most colorful scarves. It's quite large so it was easy to wrap up and do a fun style. This is actually the first time I've ever tied my hair up when it wasn't bedtime! Here's what I did. I made a triangle of the scarf bringing the two sides to my forehead. After tying it once tightly, I tied a looser knot. The triangle hanging over my forehead I folded into the two hanging pieces tying one last knot making a bun. Twist to the side and Vuala! Instant wrap side bun. It just so happens that the scarf matches this year old bathing suit. To keep the head wrap look super chic, stay with a vibrant color print...the more print and colors the better!

If you dare to try this at home please share with me your look! Till then, here are my picks for other fab scarf options...in order from steal to splurge.

Talk soon! xoxo

Maxi Monday

Dress: Anthropologie Oswego Maxi (on sale!) / Scarf: Target / Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters Emma (plum) / Watch: Michael Kors Runway / Lips: Nars

Island life is really the simple life. Maybe it's because everyone seems to do things at their own pace, the never-ending hello and how are you's, or because walking within a block of the beach means no shoes required. Whatever the reason, I love it and can't get enough!

An item I think is so necessary for island style is a trusty maxi dress. It's really easy to match and the more colors the better. Maxis are great for transitioning from day to evening...if I wanted to dress this maxi more casually, I'd simply throw on a pair of flat sandals. If I wanted to glam it p even more, I'd add a chunky statement necklace or even statement earrings. Either way, you can't go wrong!

Here are a few other maxi dresses on my radar! Till next time...
