BE MY GUEST

BE MY GUEST

1. Lily Jacquard Dress (on sale!) / 2. Badgley Mischka Satin Dress (also in blue, and on sale!) / 3. Drop Earrings / 4. Necklace (on sale!) / 5. Reiss Asymmetric Dress / 6. J.Crew Cathleen Dress / 7. HOH Danielle Clutch / 8. Joie Jade Sandal / 9. Brian Atwood Sandals

This year, so far, I have three weddings to attend...all three within a month's time frame! You know what that means, I've got to start searching for a dress as a wedding guest. Since they will all be in the summer I'm going for anything sleeveless. These four dresses caught my eye...and all but one are on sale!!! =-) As much as I would like to have all four, I should only get one (or maybe two!). Although all are very different, I can wear any of them for many occasions. They are very timeless and classic dresses!

We are almost through the entire week! Finally! I've been pretty busy at work these past few weeks. I develop web based financial systems and with the new year, there are so many changes to implement! Okay, I won't bore you any longer with work convo...back to the business of fashion! ;-)

Tonight I have plans immediately after work in the city. If I know it's going to be a long day I try to dress more on the comfortable side during work hours and make a slight 'adjustment' for after hours. My core pieces consist of a leopard pencil skirt, a long sleeve tunic and the J. Crew Cocoon Coat. For day, I added a few layers for the day look; a long cardigan, grey blazer, scarf and comfy men's inspired oxfords. For the night look I shed all the layers leaving just the skirt and tunic while adding a statement earring to glam things up a bit. When making a look more conservative add on the the extra layers. My rule, when in doubt add a scarf and a sweater. Layering up always does the trick!

LADY IN RED

Happy belated Valentine's Day!! Hope everyone was able to spend the day or evening with someone you heart! V-Day was an eventful day for me this year. It started at work, I was welcomed with pretty pink cupcakes and heavily frosted heart shaped cookies. Of course I had them for breakfast! ;-) I didn't feel too bad about cheating so early in the day, I was in for a physical beating later...For the day of Love, Wheelhouse threw an event to benefit the San Francisco Aids Foundation. I registered for two classes back to back (I know I'm insane) for my 'lunch' break. First was a spin class and immediately after was a body sculpting class. If you are in the SF area, I HIGHLY recommend this studio!! After work, I headed about 15 minutes away from my office to a lounge for dinner and drinks. My drink for he night was a Romeo and Juliet...perfect for the occasion!

I've had this red satin skirt for years now and have never worn! I always thought it was too much when I did try to wear out...V-Day was my opportunity and I'm glad I did! I've inspired myself to wear more often after seeing the entire look put together ;-) Lace is my go to dressy essential. This one I got from Banana but there are tons of options out there, similar listed above. My favorite item outside of this skirt is the ankle strap heel. My first post with these heels I dressed down and wore the original ankle straps. This time I mixed it up by wearing straps from Tibi's Carine heel. With the clear strap, it will make ANYTHING extra flattering. If you happen to own more than one shoe with removable straps, don't be afraid to mix and match!

Till next time lovelies!

V-DAY FROCKS TO FLAUNT

V-DAY FROCKS TO FLAUNT

V-DAY FROCKS TO FLAUNT by embellishedcloset featuring the Topshop Gelato Heel

For Valentine's Day is one of those days that pulls on your heart strings...you either love it or hate it, you are either falling in love or falling out (Depending on if they deliver on Vday right??!). No matter what Valentine's Day means to you, there's no reason why you shouldn't be oozing of fabulousness for the Day of Red!

I've been slightly, okay extremely obsessed over ankle strap heels. I like that the Topshop heel has a closed pointed toe. They are so edgy with any look! I would literally wear all five of these dresses with this flaming hot shoe....which one would totally depend on my mood. If I was going out drinking or dancing with girlfriends and wanted something kind of flirty and fun I'd wear the Topshop Poppy Shift dress or the B&W striped Coast dress. On the other hand, for a date night, I'd spice it up a bit and wear the Prabal Gurung fitted floral dress (if I splurged!) or the white Coast sheath dress...the red Bettie Page long knit dress if I wanted to be more on the conservative side. I'm swooning over everything in this set!!...and the accessories just completes the look.

Which number(s) would you wear??

Happy Valentine's Day lovelies!

BACK TO BLACK

Coat: Banana Republic Top: ASTR (old, similar here) / Skirt: Urbancode Leather Skirt (on sale!) / Bag: Kate Spade
Shoes: Nine West (old, similar splurge and steal) / Necklace: Anthropologie (on sale!) / Watch: Michael Kors

The rain has finally reached the West Coast! It's about time...Rain, oh how I've missed you! I'm not huge on being out and about when it rains but I must say, I'm happy to be lavished with the fresh water saturated air. You know that feeling of being ill and after recovering finally be able to effortlessly breath without labor? It's that feeling. It feels wonderful :-) And for this special occasion I'm wearing my favorite color to rock...black! Not only that but I'm playing with a few different fabrics: leather, suede, wool and polyester.

Enjoy...and stay dry! ;-)

HATS OFF

Shirt: Old Navy (Thanks sis!) / Bottoms: Paige Jeans / Hat: J.Crew / Booties: VS / Scarf: Target (splurge here) /
Handbag: Banana Republic (Sold out, similar here) / Necklace: Fossil / Lips: Nars

Happy Monday All! Doing a little window shopping today, after yesterday's Super Bowl I need a bit of retail therapy! I was a little disappointed with the overall game, I lost all excitement after the first play O_o For me, the highlight was half-time, Go Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers!!! I really wish it were a more competitive game, was it as boring for you too??

Today I'm wearing the J.Crew embellished baseball cap and a sweater my sister got me for Christmas. The baseball cap was a bit of a splurge for me...I waited a few weeks for it to get marked down but once I saw stock was getting low I had to get it! It's sold out at J.Crew but quite a few people are selling it close to retail price on EBay (link above). The color is one of my fav colors to wear, if you haven't noticed, Oxblood! I'm able to get a lot of wear out of it so well worth the splurge :-) The sweater is from Old Navy and on clearance now! It's a lot more cozy then I expected, I have worn it almost a dozen times since I've gotten it. Of the dozen colors available, my sister picked the one I like most. She knows me very well.

Until next time, enjoy the rest of your week!
